PARAFFIN WAX

  • It is the main ingredient used to establish the melting point
  • Paraffin wax flakes when trimmed and does not give a smooth surface, so other waxes are added to modify
Powered By:

CERESIN

  • Partially replaces paraffin
  • It increases toughness and easy to carve

GUM DAMMAR

  • Natural derivate from pine tree, improves the smoothness in moulding and makes it more resistant to cracking and flaking
  • Also increases toughness of the wax and enhances the lustre of the surface

CARNAUBA WAX

  • This wax is quite hard, and it has high melting point
  • It is combined with paraffin to increase the flow at mouth temperature
  • It has an agreeable odour and gives glossiness to the wax surface

USES

  • Prepare wax patterns of inlays, crowns & bridges
